Project Engineer - Utility Systems

Dome-Tech is seeking a qualified project engineer to support the growing demand for our turnkey design/build services.  The successful candidate will be tasked with the following:

• Work closely with customers to improve the reliability and efficiency of their utility systems such as boilers, chillers, cooling towers and pumping systems 
• Identify and analyze root causes of system degradation or failure
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance as part of overall energy conservation management program
• Perform initial feasibility studies for energy conservation projects, including preliminary design, review of project electrical, mechanical and structural requirements, cost estimates, project savings and overall life cycle cost analysis
• Provide technical, communication and leadership skills necessary to effectively present findings and integrated solutions to the customer
• Project management, oversee subcontractors and other site work to ensure smooth project implementation
• Establish and maintain project budget throughout duration of project to ensure profitability objectives are met
• Cultivate and develop new client relationships and accounts

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

• BS in mechanical engineering
• Ten years mechanical design and field experience of numerous utility systems is essential - boilers, chillers, cooling towers and pumps - or have equivalent knowledge gained through actual utility system analysis at pharmaceutical, institutional, medical, educational or housing facilities
• Minimum five years experience in testing, balancing, troubleshooting and controls of HVAC and associated utility systems (water, steams, air)
• Minimum five years project management experience, references required
• Design experience in heating/ cooling load calculations, combined heat and power analysis, energy conservation measures analysis, including life cycle cost analysis is a definite plus
• Knowledge of water and air distribution systems
• Knowledge of electrical distribution systems
• Strong communication and organization skills and must be driven toward superior customer service
• Must be computer literate with word processing/ spreadsheet software
• Technical writing skills required
• Must be physically able and willing to conduct site inspections and field engineering work (climb ladders, walk on roofs, etc.)
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
