Energy Engineer/ Senior Energy Engineer

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform energy audits of commercial, industrial, healthcare, higher education and municipal/ county government customers.
• Identify and develop energy conservation projects that include both capital projects and operational measures.
• Develop greenhouse gas reduction strategies backed by specific project opportunities.
• Perform calculations of energy savings and greenhouse gas reductions.
• Assist in all stages of the development process for potential energy projects.
• Prepare budget-quality cost estimates, presentations and technical reports.
• Prepare and present technical presentations of the proposed projects.

Education/ Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree.
• Five or more years experience in energy services, energy conservation and/or experience in commercial and industrial energy plant operations.
• CEM, LEED accreditation is desirable.

Desirable Skill Sets and Subject Matter Knowledge:

• Energy auditing experience including development of cost and savings estimates.
• Must have knowledge of energy-efficiency technologies suitable to understand their practical application at client facilities.
• Knowledge of project cost estimating is required.
• Knowledge of chilled water plants and systems, HVAC, boilers and steam systems, heat recovery technologies, microturbines, fuel cells and renewable energy applications.
• Knowledge of utility tariffs and rate structures, understanding of energy procurement in deregulated markets.
• Experience in energy plant operations and/or design and/or construction.
• Experience developing or participating in greenhouse gas and sustainability initiatives.
• Working knowledge of Excel, Word, MS Project, Visio, AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of energy modeling software desirable.
• Ability to travel to up 20% desirable.
