Project Description:
In an effort to consolidate a "science neighborhood," Princeton University is constructing a new state-of-the-art Chemistry Building to house 230,000 sf of laboratory and teaching spaces, a sky lit atrium, pedestrian connectors at three levels and public meeting spaces.  To meet Princeton's cutting edge green standards, Dome-Tech will be commissioning the building's energy systems, including high-efficiency fume hoods and heat recovery systems.

The building comprises 230,000 sf on 5 full size floors of approximately 40,000 sf each.  The laboratory building is comprised of 4 above ground levels as is the 3 zone administration buildings that are linked by a common central corridor.  The administration building and laboratory buildings are linked by a central Atrium.

The construction of the facility will incorporate numerous sustainability designs based on Princeton University's Design Standards Manual and will use the US Green Building Council's LEED Rating System as a benchmark to ensure sustainability criteria.  These criteria will be addressed, in the main, through the use of low velocity fume hoods, automatic sash control, high efficiency heat recovery and rainwater harvesting.

Construction of the Chemistry Building is expected to start in Fall 2007.  The building is scheduled to be occupied in 2010.
