Project Description: The New Jersey Dental School Expansion is a 100,000 sf, $20m state-of-the-art school facility that is focused on the continuing training and education of dental health professionals. The existing Dental and Medical School is on the Newark campus of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
This expansion phase, which was completed in June 2004, has shell spaces on Levels A, B and C and a fully occupied Level D, including a dental patient clinic. The building structure and utilities are design for two additional levels in the future. The addition includes conference rooms and clinic facilities for serving the community and providing training for future dentist.
Dome-Tech Commissioning Service was brought onto the project during the Construction Phase, but we performed the Design Review and developed the Commissioning Plan and Design and Intent retroactively. Although these tasks are normally performed during the Planning and Design Phases of building development, their completion greatly benefited the clean documentation of project goals. Completing these tasks "on the run" allowed for quick turnover of the project with no extra time required for the commissioning activities.
Dome-Tech met the objectives of facilitating start-up and providing fully functional HVAC systems that support the needs of teachers, students, clinic patients, school administrators and operations and maintenance staff. |
