Project Description: When Elizabethtown Water Company needed support they turned to Dome-Tech Energy Solutions (DES). Following field surveys on the existing lighting systems at four Elizabethtown Water Facilities, it was recognized that Elizabethtown Water could achieve substantial long term savings by upgrading their lighting systems at these four sites. DES developed a solution to improve overall light levels and create utility bill savings by replacing existing T-12/ magnetic lighting technology with T-8/ electronic lighting technology and reflectors. Existing HID fixtures were upgraded by replacing them with T-5/ electronic technology and reflectors.
By upgrading close to 2,100 existing light fixtures and adding occupancy sensors where they would be most beneficial, DES was able to increase energy efficiency while maintaining or improving light levels. This improvement corresponds to over $80,100 in annual utility bill energy savings.
Through the implementation of this energy conservation opportunity (ECO), Elizabethtown Water was able to budget and pay for other needed capital improvements. DES provided a complete turn-key solution to this energy savings measure. DES handled all process and completed all forms to secure rebates from the New Jersey SmartStart Buildings rebate program.
The Elizabethtown Water Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Thames Water, one of the world's largest water and wastewater companies focusing on water related products and services worldwide. |
