Project Description:
Elizabethtown Water Company pumps over 100 million gallons per day out of its Raritan Millstone Water Treatment Plant.  With the High Lift Station Pumps each providing approximately 20 million gallons per day each, the efficiency of these pumps has significant bearing on the overall energy use at the facility.

Both original pumps were tested and found to be operating at efficiencies of 66% and 69% respectively.  By replacing these pumps with new, high efficiency pumps of 87%, significant energy savings could be recognized.

As each pump has almost 1 MW of load, new premium efficiency 1250 HP motors were installed with a 4160V variable frequency drive that would allow the plant to modulate flow and control system pressure with more versatility.

The installation of the new pumps, motors and variable frequency drive offset existing low efficiency operation and the use of high cost natural gas engine drive pumps.  The added system flexibility allowed operators to control plant flow and optimize energy performance at the facility ultimately increasing energy savings.

Dome-Tech Energy Solutions dug deeper than the typical energy firm to offer the best possible solution to the client.  The overall system performance was tested upon installation and the savings verified to fulfill our savings guarantee and commitment to our client.
Dome-Tech's hands-on field engineering expertise and testing capability helped Elizabethtown Water find energy savings where most thought none existed.
