Project Details: Part of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, the 381-bed Jack Weiler Hospital is located on Montefiore's East campus in the Bronx. The facility includes a neonatology service center, one of the only 15 regional perinatal centers in the state, and a state-of-the-art neonatal intensive care unit. The facility also includes a clinical diabetes center, an emergency department, a maternal-fetal medical center and the Albert Einstein Breast Center.
The operations and maintenance staff at Jack Weiler had invested in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) that they were using to track work orders and ongoing equipment maintenance. But the int ital installation did not include uploading any equipment data, preventing the maintenance staff from using their CMMS to its fullest potential.
Dome-Tech recommended an equipment inventory to collect nameplate data to input into the CMMS. By uploading the data and cross referencing with bar code labels placed on the actual equipment, Jack Weiler would be able to be more proactive with their scheduled maintenance efforts ultimately increasing the life span of their equipment and their building.
Day 2 Services collected all equipment data, organizing it utilizing a structured equipment tagging and bar code system, and then entered it into a database that was compatible with Jack Weiler's existing CMMS. The data was then merged and uploaded into the CMMS.
By working with and outside firm, the in-house staff was able to continue to focus on core job functions and the process was completed in a matter of weeks with no interruption in day-to-day maintenance activities. Further, Day 2 Service's unique combination of IT knowledge and engineering experience ensured that the database included all relevant information and a complete implementation with minimal imposition on the client's staff. |
