Press Release: Clean Energy is Smart business for state business leaders, New Jersey Clean Energy Conference and Leadership awards planned for September 18
(Newark, NJ) -- Clean energy is smart business for the Garden State. That's the theme of the 2006 New Jersey Clean Energy Conference scheduled for September 18 at the New Brunswick Hyatt Regency Hotel. State business leaders will learn about the latest trends in renewable energy financing, technologies and market transformations as well as develop a better understanding of ways to lower overall energy costs and improve environmental performance.
The conference, hosted by The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) and its Clean Energy Program, also will feature the second annual New Jersey Clean Energy Leadership Awards, which recognize business and communities who have made the powerful choice to take advantage of renewable energy and energy efficient programs.
"The topics and issues addressed at this conference are more relevant than ever," said NJBPU President Jeanne M. Fox. "As the rest of the nation struggles to determine the best ways to leverage renewable energy sources, New Jersey has emerged as one of the leading clean energy markets in the nation. This conference brings together those state and business leaders that have helped make New Jersey a clean energy pioneer."
The New Jersey Clean Energy Conference will bring over 400 leading businesses and energy professionals together to learn, network and discuss issues shaping the Mid Atlantic energy market in general and the New Jersey energy market in particular.
"This conference provides an excellent forum for state business leaders to learn more about the economics of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies and how to hedge against rising energy costs," said Dennis Canavan, Executive Director, Worldwide Energy Management, Johnson & Johnson and the Honorary Chairman of the 2006 New Jersey Clean Energy Conference. "As gasoline and fossil fuel costs grow, so do opportunities for New Jersey's business community to leverage the financial and environmental benefits of clean energy."
This year's conference will feature a variety of speakers and market leaders who have already invested in clean energy technologies. Highlights will include presentations by leading energy experts, breakout sessions featuring topical discussions on the practical application of clean energy to business, and how to take advantage of financial incentives available to New Jersey businesses. Specific panel discussions will focus on Clean Energy Project Financing, Federal Tax Credits, Renewable Energy Certificate Markets, and "Green" Building Design.
"New Jersey's Clean Energy conference provides tremendous networking opportunities with the state's business and regulatory communities," said Bruce Curtis, President of Dome-Tech, whose company was the recipient of last year's Clean Energy Market Innovator Award. "New Jersey has emerged as one of the leading solar markets in the nation and we look forward to participating in this year's event to build upon our client base."
The one-day conference will take place from 8:00 am until 4:30 pm. To register or for more information, visit www.njcleanenergy.com
