Press Release:  dome-Tech solar achieves NABCEP Solar PV Installer certification, urges others to support consistent national standards

Edison, NJ (June 7, 2006) -  Dome-Tech Solar announces that Rob Rynar, VP Operations, and Scott Gross, Director of Engineering, have achieved a Solar PV Installer Certification from the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP).  NABCEP is a national association that strives to provide a set of national standards for the solar PV installation industry and offers ways in which installers with skills and experience can distinguish themselves.  There are currently only 255 individuals who have achieved the Solar PV Installer Certification, only ten are from New Jersey.

"High quality engineering and installation is the cornerstone of Dome-Tech Solar's commitment to customers," said Tom Kuster, President of Dome-Tech Solar.  "We fully support the NABCEP and their mission to provide national standards for the industry.  As the solar industry continues to grow, a lack of consistent standards could erode confidence in renewable technologies.  I urge all solar photovoltaic companies in the market place to support the NABCEP and their mission, it is in everyone's benefit."

Becoming certified by NABCEP is a voluntary process.  The applicant must demonstrate sufficient experience installing PV systems or have a combination of experience and adequate quality training in the proper methods of installing PV systems and components.  The application process and examination are rigorous and those who achieve certification demonstrate they meet recognized national standards and are bound to ethical conduct.

The NABCEP is a volunteer board of renewable energy stakeholder representatives and includes representatives of the solar industry, NABCEP certificants, renewable energy organizations, state policy makers, educational institutions and the trades.  One of the major goals of the NABCEP Certification is to provide consumers with a wider choice of PV installers.  Having a PV system installed by a NABCEP certified installer increases the likelihood that they system will be installed according to the relevant electrical/ safety codes and in compliance with manufacturer's specifications.  The NABCEP Code of Ethics commits its certificants to fairly estimate the PV system's output and deliver safe, competent services in a timely manner.
