Press Release: Dome-Tech Solar Installs 133 kw Solar Photovoltaic System at Novartis, Helps New Jersey Facility Exceed Green House Gas Emission Reduction Goals
Edison, NJ (August 15, 2006) - Dome-Tech Solar today announces the installation and start-up of a 133 kilowatt solar photovoltaic system at the Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation facility in East Hanover, New Jersey. The system, which will offset production of more than 770 tons of carbon dioxide annually, fully supports Novartis's voluntary commitment to reduce Green House Gas (GhG) emission of CO2 to the same level as prescribed in the Kyoto Protocol.
The roof-mounted photovoltaic system was designed and installed by Dome-Tech Solar, the solar energy solutions provider for commercial and industrial businesses in New Jersey. The installation incorporates 424 SCHOTT ASE 315 watt Solar panels, as well as SCHOTT Solar's patented roof-mounting technology.
"We applaud Novartis for their continued efforts to reduce energy consumption and thereby reduce harmful effects to New Jersey's environment," said Tom Kuster, President of Dome-Tech Solar. "In addition to this very high profile photovoltaic system, Novartis has historically run their operations with a focus on efficient operations and energy use. Energy conservation is a fundamental part of their day-to-day lives.
